We’ve recently designed and built a new website for a client with some very specific requirements as they sell niche products and provide a unique customisation service for their products. It’s all very impressive to be honest!
The brief specified functionality which the client had identified on their existing website as not performing well enough for their customers. They were concerned that this caused customers to lose interest and buy elsewhere; a disaster for an online retailer. Also, a current very topical point, the clients were aware from their analytics that a sizable proportion of their customers were finding them on mobile devices so it was crucial that the new website design was responsive (i.e. works well on tablets and smartphones as well as a desktop).
The client, The Model Centre, is a family run business that sell products and accessories for model railway enthusiasts. They also offer a unique commission service whereby they will add special paint finishes, extras and personalisation to off the shelf products for those customers who don’t have the skills or want to avoid damaging their intricate models.
This website design brief included simplifying the navigation so it is more user-friendly and prioritising key product categories through search filters. It needed to integrate with existing business management software and social media, adhere to their brand guidelines and display their images within a clean, modern feel. What’s more we needed to offer currency conversion and tax deduction where applicable to maximise their global sales opportunities.
Already active in online sales across the globe, these clients have been able to measure the success of our website design and have just had their best sales year by a long way!
We’re thrilled to have been able to help them to exceed their targets through top quality website design.
