Our experts here at Logic Design know a thing or two about driving website traffic. In this series of blog posts, we’ll discuss tried and tested ways of helping you increase those page hits.

“If you build it, they will come,” whispered a voice to Ray Kinsella in Field of Dreams. Great advice for building a baseball pitch on a cornfield, but not worth much when it comes to building websites. Even the kind of elegant website design we specialise in is only the first step (albeit a huge one) in attracting the right audience. There are over a billion websites currently in existence and likely a significant number in your area of the market. For instance, there are several websites selling eyewear specifically for dogs.

So, how do you get people to visit your website? Here are three proven approaches we’ll focus on in coming weeks.

Great content: Cultivating, optimising, sharing

Website design that includes a blog stuffed with informative, entertaining and keyword rich content (which will boost your Google ranking) is a great way to tempt visitors to your website (hey, you’re here reading this, right?). A blog is also a great way to position yourself as an industry expert. And they don’t have to be all about words, either. Videos, infographics and SEO best practice are all part of the blogging game these days – and just some of what we’ll be lifting the lid on next week.

And if your blog is great, people will want to share it, which links seamlessly into…

Organic social media: Share and share a ‘like’

Pick your weapons: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube. And that’s just the top of the tree. A focused social media strategy using creative ideas and tantalising links to brilliant blog articles (‘5 reasons your dog needs sunglasses’) is a vital part of growing your website traffic. Plus, of course, there are other roads less travelled in the social media space too. And we’ll help show you the way along with some great new ideas in an upcoming post.

Paid social media: Targeting your audience

Paying for advertising on social media allows you to move beyond your immediate audience and target specific demographics. You might already know you can pay to advertise that new range of dog sunglasses to local Facebook users who regularly donate money to canine eyecare charities. But we’ll talk about how – and getting even more bang for your buck.
