Study Says, Keywords in Local Reviews Does Not Impact Google Local Rankings

A study from Sterling Sky shows that keywords in local review will not help local ranking in Google Search. Although it was a small study, it proved to show that keyword-rich reviews do not help improve local rankings. In fact, for some of the keywords, some of the results got worse. This might be a sign to focus elsewhere for growing your local search rankings.

Google Page Speed Algorithms Are No Longer Used

Fortunately, you can still use existing similar audience segments until August 2023, however you will not be able to add new similar audience segments starting from May 2023. This is due to the ongoing focus on consumer privacy and evolution of online marketing approaches.

Google Pushes the Commercial UA Analytics 360 Sunset to 2024

Enterprise marketers now have more time to switch to GA4 as Google’s moving the sunset date of Universal Analytics 360 to 2024. Moving from October 2023 to July 2024, this allows customers to take their time to transition and enable to process to be smoother and more streamlined. As well as this, there is more time to refine and enhance the platform ready for use.

Apple Offers New Ad Placements in App Store

Apple is offering two new ad placements on the Today tab and product pages. Previously, Apple Ads inventory focused on Search campaigns; this meant that search volume and keywork match types determined demand and placement. There are specific requirements your custom product page must meet in order to be advertised on the Today tab. The Product page ads will be curated based on the assets currently on your app’s product page.

From tracking tools’ volatility and both public and private SEO forums seeing activity around Fridays and Saturdays, this could suggest that pushes happen around this time. We should keep an eye out towards the end of the week for any potential updates and trends.

Schema: Google Recommends Dot Over Comma as Numerical Separators in Review Snippet Structured Data

For decimal numbers, use a dot instead of a comma to specify the value. Although both dots and commas will work and if you are currently using comma separators for decimal ratings you will still be eligible for review snippets, Google recommends the dots over commas. It may seem like a small thing, but make sure you update your markup for a more accurate interpretation.

Google Overhauls Business Profile Management with Transition to Search Interface

Google My Business dashboard (now called Google Business Profile Manager) lets you edit your profile directly from the search results pages. With a Business Profile on Google Maps and Search, you can update your business information, add photos or updates, and connect with your customers. To manage your profile directly on Google, all you have to do is go to your Business Profile and in the menu above the search results select Edit Profile, Promote or Customers.
